Each month of the year, except in July and August, St Luke’s invites local neighbours and others from the local community to gather for a community meal. The cost is a toonie, what you are able to pay, or whatever you’d like to contribute. No one is turned away.
The meal is hosted on a Saturday evening from 5-6:30 pm during the month. Please check the Events Calendar for the current date.
The usual fare is
- spaghetti sauce both meat and vegan versions
- casear salad
- crusty bread or buns
- fabulous home-made desserts
- coffee, tea, and juice
Here’s some info about a recent Community Meal
Over two hundred people enjoyed the fare of the community meal on Saturday, 20 January in the parish hall. In January, the community meal is one event in the month-long Peterborough SNOFEST programme.
Many who attended the dinner had spent the day by taking in the numerous SNOFEST events many of which were held at Armour Hill Park just up the street from the parish. It was a perfect, sunny, January-thaw day to be outside and having family fun. It was also a great day to be building on connections.
