Come and help ring church bell 100 times in commemoration of 100 years since end of World War I

At sunset on Sunday, 11 November bell tolls 100 times

Neighbours and parishioners are invited to join in tolling of church bell to mark 100 years since end of World War I (1918-2018)

Greetings to each of you,

As you may know, 2018 marks 100 years since the end of World War I (The Great War).

For this solemn and momentous occasion, Archbishop Fred Hilts, Primate of the Anglican Church of Canada, has invited parishes throughout Canada to toll their bells 100 times at sunset on Sunday, 11 November 2018. This is to remember the sacrifices of those who gave their lives by serving their country in that time of hostilities. It is also to give thanks for the peace we enjoy in our days and to pray for peace throughout the world.

St Luke's will participate in this nationwide tolling of bells at sunset (4:50 pm) on 11 November.

Neighbours, their families and friends are invited to join with parishioners in the tolling of the bell. We will allot number of tolls to each person depending on the number of people present.

  • Please gather at the church no later than 4:40 pm
  • Tolling of the bell will begin at 4:50 pm and will toll 100 times
  • Please enter either through front of church on Armour Road or through the parking lot entrance in rear of church

On behalf of St Luke's, I extend this invitation to you, your family, and friends. Children are warmly invited and most welcome to participate.

Blessings and Peace to you,

Glenn Empey, Parish Priest
